My Cup is Full

by WPR
Virginia

I’m trying to empty my cup
But it seems to fill back up.

There’s so many things I’ve acquired
And even more yet to be desired.

Too much is not enough
If only I could get more stuff.

My ego is in overdrive
But I have yet to arrive.

I know not where I’m going
But I’m in a hurry to get there.
The means by which I don’t care.

I have a lot
But I still want more
Who cares what that thing is for
As long as it’s something I adore.

I’m trying to empty my cup
But it seems to fill back up
Maybe what I need now is a bigger cup.
